The Department of Industry, Science and Resources is consulting on a proposed framework for the Australian Government’s National Quantum Strategy.
Quantum technologies present an exciting opportunity to:
- accelerate Australia’s economic growth
- support our long-term prosperity.
Australia has an established strength in quantum technologies. We have a concentration of research capability and applied technology success.
With strong foundations, the quantum opportunity for Australia is immense.
This consultation builds on insights from previous engagement, including a series of 4 roundtables led by Australia’s Chief Scientist, Dr Cathy Foley AO PSM.
Themes from earlier consultations were shaped into a set of objectives forming the proposed framework for Australia’s National Quantum Strategy.
Feedback is being sought on the 7 proposed objectives. In particular:
- Do the objectives align with the needs for a thriving Australian quantum industry?
- Have any objectives or supporting initiatives been missed?
- From these proposed objectives, what should the priorities be?
- Which initiatives should be addressed first?
- What are the key risks that would impact these objectives being met?
